Solutions.!!

1) Solution
48% of 525 + ?% of 350 = 399
=> 48/100 of 525 + ?/100 of 350 = 399
=> (48 x 525)/100 + (? x 350) /100 = 399
=> 25200 + ? x 350 = 399 x 100
=> ? x 350 = 39900-25200
=> ? = 14700/350
=> ? = 42

2) Solution
Let the value required be A,
√A – 11 = √(1521)
=> √A = √(1521) + 11
=> A = (√(1521) + 11)2 = (39 + 11)2 = 50 x 50 = 2500

3) Solution
Simple addition so  = 3483.15
4) Solution
13% of 258 - ? = 10
? = 13% of 258 – 10
=> (13/100) x 258 – 10 = 33.54 – 10 = 23.54

5) Solution easily solved = 37.25
6) Solution
x 50 = 5437 – 3153 + 2284
=> ? x 50 = 4568
=> ? = 4568/ 50 = 91.36

7)Solution
2*8=16
16*7=112
112*6=672... so on

8) Solution
Speed of the train in meters/second = 60 x 5/18 = 50/3 m/s
Distance travelled in 27s = 27x 50/3 m, this is equal to train’s length + platform’s length
x + 200 = 27 x 50/3
3x + 600 = 1350
3x = 750
x = 750/3 = 250m

9) Solution
Let A’s and B’s present age be A and B respectively.
(A-7)/(B-7) = 3/4
=> (4A-28)=(3B-21)
=> 4A-3B=7 ---------- (I)
(A+9)/(B+9) = 7/8
=> 8A+72 = 7B + 63
=> 7B-8A = 9 ------- (II)
Solving I and II we get,
A = 19 years, B = 23 years.

10) Solution
There are 2 cases where the number of men is more than women.
Case I : 4 Men and 0 Women
Probability = 5C4/10C4 = 1/42
Case II : 3 Men and 1 Woman
Probability = 5C3 x5C1/10C4 = 5/21
Probability of both case I and case II =
1/42 + 5/21 = 11/42
